St. Augustine Musical Festival

Scheduled for two weeks on Fridays through Sundays from June 21 to June 30, 2024, the festival features musicians from the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and often includes internationally renowned guest artists. This is the festival's 18th season.

St. Augustine Music Festival

Sponsored by the St. Johns Cultural Council, St. Johns County Tourist Development Council, and the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, the festival was founded in 2007 by Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra members Jorge A. Peña (viola) and Jin Kim-Peña (cello), who encouraged other orchestra musicians and soloists to participate in the festival.

        Admission: Free, however, reservations can be made via Eventbrite.

        When: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m.

        Where: Concerts are held at the Cathedral Basilica, 38 Cathedral Place in historic downtown St. Augustine, Florida 32084.

Wednesday, June 19, 7:30 p.m. — Fourth Annual Juneteenth Concert

In addition to the six concerts in their normal season, SAMF has added a concert to honor Juneteenth, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Friday, June 21, at 7:30 p.m — Evolution

Chamber music, featuring Nigel Armstrong and Gabriella Peña. (See program below.)

Saturday, June 22, at 7:30 p.m. — Mystic Latin

Chamber music, with three ensembles: a woodwind and string sextet, a piano sextet, and a string quartet. 

Sunday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. — Mozart and Americana

Chamber orchestra performing music composed by Americans, William Grant and Arthur Foote, and Mozart. (See program below.)

Chamber music by Stravinsky, Shostakovich, and Wolf-Ferrari.

Saturday, June 29, at 7:30 p.m. — Musical Saga

Chamber music featuring the brass and woodwind sections, and music by Brahms and Sibelius.

Sunday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m. — A Night with Nigel

Chamber orchestra, featuring music by Shostakovich and Joseph Haydn.
