Summer

In summer, St. Augustine is the perfect vacation destination, and people flock to the city from all over the country. Crowds

Summer is quite busy from June to mid-August, but most of the crowds stay concentrated around the beaches.

Fall

Family tourism winds down in fall as school starts, and the weather is typically very pleasant. Changing leaves add a beautiful touch to an already gorgeous city. These conditions make this the best time of year for shopping and sightseeing in the Historic District. Numerous festivals take place, especially culture-oriented ones, such as Sing Out Loud, the Food & Wine Festival, and the Festival of Art.

Weather

For most of fall, St. Augustine enjoys near-perfect conditions. Average temperatures are in the 80s in September and reach the lower 60s by late November. Rain and humidity are not an issue.

Crowds

Fall is off-season again, so crowds are not a problem. This means you can usually find good deals at attractions around the city.

Winter

In winter, St. Augustine cools off but still provides a nice escape from the harsher cold and snow in the northern United States. Christmas celebrations create a delightfully quaint and charming atmosphere that meshes perfectly with the city’s historic character. One famous highlight is Nights of Lights, a dazzling display of Christmas lights in certain parts of the city from late November into the New Year.

Weather

Average temperatures range from the high 40s to the high 60s throughout the season, and the winter months have the least precipitation of the year.

Crowds

Winter is generally less busy, and it shouldn’t be hard to find great deals at local attractions. The exception is the Nights of Lights festival, which is one of the most popular events of the year. You can expect to find serious crowds admiring this enchanting event.
